My name is Monica Barbosa, and I am from the city of Barcelos, Portugal. I have graduated in Administrative Assistant and Translation from the Porto Accounting and Business School (ISCAP).

From a young age I always kept an interest in occult sciences, by which I have been accumulating knowledge throughout the years, combining them with my professional practices.

Since 2014 my main interest has always been in the subject of Astrology, for which I started with Modern Western Astrology, then Traditional Astrology and after that I decided to focus my studies on Traditional Vedic Astrology.

My journey of Vedic Astrology, started at Dirah Academy International, under the mentorship of Roeland de Looff, followed by Rama Academy with Pandita Visti Larsen.

Later on, I decided to join the a Vedic Tradition wordily known as the Parampara of Achyuta Das, a lineage with more than 500 years of tradition which started with Achyutānanda Dasa in 16th Century, by becoming a student of Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center, through the courses of Parāśara Jyotish Course (PJC) and Mantra Śastra Program (MSP) under the guidance of Pt. Sanjay Rath, with the mentorship of Pt. Branka Larsen and Pt. Željko Krgović (PJC) and Kartik Srinivasan (MSP II).

Currently, I offer astrological services through Sri Monica Astro, applying the knowledge acquired in the Astrological Vedic Tradition of Śrī Achyuta Das' Parampara, combined with other techniques and teachings that I have been accumulating in the last 10 years.

I believe that Vedic astrology can be a powerful tool for self-knowledge and guidance on your journey. My services include online consultations, personalized recordings and email consultations, as well as a blog with astrological insights and practical tips for everyday life. My purpose is to help you understand the planetary configurations at the time of your birth and how they influence your life.

Curriculum

Parampara of Śrī Achyuta Das

The Parampara of Śrī Achyuta Das, was founded by Śrī Acchūytanānda Dasa who followed the teaching of his guru Śrī Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Śrī Acchūytanānda Dasa was born in 1510 in Tilaka, Odisha, India. He was a poet, writer, and translator of many well-known works, including the translation of the "Book of Prophecies," from which he also became known as "He Who Could See the Past, Present, and Future."

Also called Mahapurusa and Gopala Guru, due to the vast knowledge he had in the most diverse topics, his teachings are full of bhakti and are a mixture of Yantra, Mantra, Tantra, Svara sastra, Yoga sastra, jyotisa among others that are based on the Vedic epics and the Puranas that have their origin in 4000 and 5000 BC.

Śrī Acchūytanānda Dasa, throughout the years shared his teaching with a limited number of students “śiṣyas”, to whom thought generations it reached at 1935 at the Village of Puri, Odissa, India to the Rath Family, specially, form Pandit Sanjay Rath that has been spreading the knowledge worldwide to the present moment.

Rath Family & Sanjay Rath

Śrī Jagannath Rath (Sanjay Rath grandfather) was considered a Royal Astrologer (Raja Jyotish), and Kasinath Rath (Sanjay Rath’s uncle) was teaching through informal lessons this ancient knowledge to Sanjay Rath and other students.

Pandita Sanjay Rath was born in 1963 in Orissa, becoming the founder of the Sri Jagannath Center and the Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center where he teaches several courses, including: Parāśara Jyotish Course (PJC), Jaimini Sūtra Program (JSP) and Mantra Śastra Program (MSP). He is the living descendant of Śrī Acchūyta Das' legacy, passing on his Traditional Vedic knowledge through his courses to people from all corners of the world, from which I include myself along side my mentors mentors Pt. Visit Larsen, Pt. Branka Larsen, Pt. Željko Krgović, Pt. Kartik Srinivasan, that are under his guidance and to whom we owe this knowledge of the Parampara of Śrī Achyuta Das.

Vedic Tradition - Parampara

The designation Parampara is strongly associated with the spiritual relationship between the 'guru' (teacher, गुर) and 'śiṣya' (disciple, शिष्य), in which a 'guru' (teacher, गुर) imparts to his 'śiṣya' (disciple, शिष्य) teachings according to a particular ideological or spiritual tradition.
